Q/A: Is spiritual leadership in the US more stressful today than in the 1960's or 1980's?

Author: Tom Bandy
The 1960’s embroiled spiritual leaders in the Civil Rights movement for African-Americans and women; and the 1980’s started the movement for Gay Rights. Both movements are still ongoing in western culture, particularly in the US where black publics and women lag behind other countries in gaining full equality, and where the Gay Rights movement only became serious after 2000. And the emerging culture shift bringing a new wave of stress is about globalization and immigration. What is the relevance or irrelevance of spiritual leadership to these movements?
